Complementary Product Design

Complementary to the fundamental technologies embodied within Micronics' T-Sensor®, H-Filter®, ORCA Microfluidics™ and Microcytometer® platforms, Micronics has developed, owns and/or has exclusively licensed intellectual property, and has demonstrated experience in the management of miniaturized flow-through design features. These additional capabilities include:

  • Passively driven microfluidic structures – making fluids flow with gravity, absorption, and capillary action without additional driving mechanisms


  • Positive displacement and other forms of microfluidic pumping compatible with blood and other particulate-containing fluids


  • Microfluidic polymeric structures – three-dimensional circuits, sample/reagent input, cell lysing, mixing, valving, cell and particle focusing, and hybrid circuit structures (polymers, glass, metals, silicon, etc.)


  • Diffusion-created concentration gradients


  • Rapid prototyping – complex fluidic modeling, efficient polymer laminate prototyping, designing for high volume production


  • Macro-to-Micro interfaces – connecting fluids from the outside world to the card, interfacing with a variety of sensor technologies


  • Microplumbing – providing fluid control to and from micro-electrical-mechanical-systems (MEMs)
