Molecular specie with different molecular weights can be separated by molecular and convective diffusion in an H-Filter® from Micronics, Inc. The Separation Calculator lets you manipulate process parameters to optimize the separation process, whether you wish to recover small molecular-weight components from your sample, or clean up a large molecular-weight sample. You can select model components, Micronics card model, diffusion time, and two flow-rate ratios to optimize the process for what is most important to you, whether you wish to maximize separation or minimize contamination or loss of sample.
The Separation Calculator accesses a database of experimentally-correlated results from mathematical models produced by our Micronics scientists. The diffusion process is illustrated by colored regions that represent 90% of each molecular species. The amount of recovery and removal are displayed in percent. The magnitude and direction of the arrows represent the fluid flow in the H-Filter.
