Coulter has more than 125,000 hematology systems operating in
laboratories around the world and markets its products in approximately
130 countries. Beckman acquired an exclusive right to Micronics' bead
patent and a non-exclusive right to other IP for flow cytometry.
Honeywell
is a $24 billion diversified technology and manufacturing leader. Its
leadership in the fields of solid state lasers, pumps and flow sensors
for instruments is complementary with Micronics' lab card innovations.
The companies first aligned to develop a wristwatch-sized blood cell monitoring
device under DARPA's BioFlips program. Today they working to advance a
Microcytometer® system based on Micronics' technology.
PATH
is collaborating with Micronics and others in the development of a lab card for rapid detection
of enteric pathogens for use in the developing world. The disposable enterics card will be an automated,
easy to use, point of card product to which Micronics has commercial rights.
